Santhiyahu Pothahar was born in a small village called Silukkuvarpatti near Madurai in a catholic family and later on joined American Mission thru his father. In his early days he worked as a Teacher in Pasumalai and then became Professor of Mathematics in the American College, Madurai. After that he became a teacher in Pasumalai Seminary.

My interest in books was given to me by my father which developed to the level of having my own library when I was in 6th grade. It was called “Basker lending Home” named after my younger brother. One could become a member by donating a book or paying 1 rupee. They could also borrow any book for 10 paise.Most of my books were Muthu comics,Ponni comics and Lion comics and books written by Sujatha.
